Sea Fishing Tackle Evaluation: The Okuma Trio 40S High Speed Spinning Reel
Envision this scenario: it’s the start of the day and you’re situated on a windswept shore. You launch your lure into the waves expecting a catch just as many beautiful hues begin filling the sky. Waiting…waiting…waiting…and all of a sudden, the struggle commences! There’s nothing I relish more than just such a fight. Although I enjoy all types of angling, sea fishing is by far my favourite. A joy comes over me as I get together my sea fishing tackle. If you get equally excited, undoubtedly you pay a lot of attention to what fishing equipment you pack also. One reel I’m particularly fond of is my Okuma Trio 40S high speed spinning reel, and I’d like to share my thoughts about it with you.
Sea Fishing Tackle: Major Benefits of the Okuma Trio 40S High Speed Spinning Reel
There are plenty of creative functions that come with the Trio 40S features, like a unique crossover style using graphite and aluminium. The graphite side plates and housing team up with a one-piece aluminium rotor arm and reel stem. The end product? Exceptional strength in a superb piece of fishing tackle that’s extremely light. The multi-piece spool houses the drag system within an aluminium chamber that delivers exceptional stability and smoothness. The housing, which is constructed from graphite, lessens the weight and also makes it look classier. The 40S’s longevity is reinforced through a process in which each piece (housing and internal) are coated; this is known as corrosion resistant coating (CRC). This coating greatly slows down the corrosive process by bonding to the metal. The anodised pieces are pigmented in an eye-catching orange tone.
Sea Fishing Tackle: Even More Features of the Okuma Trio 40S Reel
Another feature I’m keen on is the 40S’s dual force drag (DFD) system. Making use of Japanese-oiled, multi-disc, felt drag washers, the reel has improved tension (generated from the top and the bottom). This creates better drag pressure. I must admit – the DFD is rather dependable and even. What’s more, the reel uses 9 ball bearings, and a quick-set anti-reverse roller bearing, and this aids you in a smooth, flawless cast and retrieve process. Alongside this, I delight in Okuma’s elliptical oscillation system (EOS). It does its job flawlessly, and cast after cast is nice and even.
Sea Fishing Tackle: Last Opinions on the Okuma Trio 40S High Speed Reel
The 40S’s forged aluminium handle, watertight drag seal, and solid aluminium, heavy-duty anodised bail wire all contribute to the reel’s quality look and feel. What’s more, there is a rotor equalising system (RESII) that is computer-balanced. On top of that, I have discovered that the 40S comes with an incredibly long lasting, precision machine-cut brass pinion gear. The reel enjoys a 6.1:1 retrieve ratio, and also holds 170m x .30mm of mono filament line. Trio reels offer a one-year warranty. Could I ask for more from a piece of sea fishing tackle that can be purchased for roughly £60 to £70? The answer is clearly no!
The Okuma Trio 40S high speed spinning reel is really a first-class little bit of sea fishing tackle that I support without hesitation.
