Sea Fishing Tackle Assessment: Abu Garcia ProMax Baitcaster Reel by Tommy Jones
I can’t imagine anything more satisfying than choosing an excellent group of sea fishing tackle and setting out for a uninhabited beach or rocky cape. In some aspects it’s more tasking, and the incentive is a lot more gratifying. Being a sea angler, I pursue an assortment of fish groups, that’s why I use great care to select my tackle with lots of consideration and reflection. One brand I’m quite partial to is Abu Garcia. Sea Fishing Tackle: Main Components of the Abu Garcia ProMax Reel
Anglers like me have long wished Abu would produce a low priced reel full of high quality features. The ProMax collection has accomplished this! ProMax reels are priced at approximately £60 and don’t hold out on components or superiority. This reel is great sea fishing tackle for both learners and authorities. The ProMax inherits its profile from Abu’s vaunted Revo line. To me, it has an excellent retrieve ratio which is 6.2:1. Sea Fishing Tackle: Additional Information on the ProMax Reel
Using the flip-style switch, I am able to choose how the reel acts as I’m letting loose of the thumb bar spool release. In the “on” position, the gears automatically engage when I release the thumb bar. When on OFF, the gears start just as the handle is turned. The reel has Abu’s popular, patented MagTrax precision magnetic braking system that helps me control the end of the cast. When it’s connected with a great spool tension system that permits me to have power over the onset of the cast, MagTrax makes certain that overruns are appreciably cut down. The ProMax has 7 ball bearings and 1 roller bearing for smooth operation.
Sea Fishing Tackle: Concluding Remarks on the Abu Garcia ProMax Reel
I have consistently been biased toward baitcasting reels, largely because they are very flexible and easy to change, only if you have opted for the specific one for the variety you are tracking. This reel is ideal for me because I like to cast heavy lures such as big jigs and large crankbaits. I also find the ProMax useful when I’m targeting larger fish that require extra cranking power. It’s important to note that the reel has significant line capacity as well, for both fresh and saltwater fish species. It will hold 175yd of .30mm diameter line. Finally, the ProMax weighs 225g.
